Task:

Journal Entry #1:
You are beginning your journey to America soon. As you prepare to leave, you want to write in your journal about the reasons behind leaving your home. Explain with whom you are traveling and what you will bring on your trip.

Journal Entry #2:
Your second journal entry is written on board the ship to America. You need to write about your voyage. What is your day like on board? Are you running into any problems? How is your family/traveling companion?

Journal Entry #3:
Your third journal entry is written right after you arrive in America. You have just found a job and are excited to be a new citizen. Where are you living (city and home)? What job do you have? What is your daily life like?

Exit poem/essay
Create a poem or write an essay or collage of pictures that explains: how immigration contributed to the growth of industry OR demonstrates what the immigrant experience was like.
